At Running Deer we operate in a trauma informed way based on the Trauma Informed School approach.
This means we support student with adverse childhood experiences and provide a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for students to process the challenges they have faced.
We have two qualified Trauma informed practitioners that have been able implement whole school policies that are designed to support young people that have experienced traumatic events in the past.
We have a behaviour policy which sets out how we support students in crisis positively, individually, and proactively as possible. Our relationship policy sets out the expectation that we will all interact with each other sensitively, with understand, and care.
Respecting all equally.
Please contact us if you would like more information on our Trauma Informed Approach.
